Job Summary:
JLK Global Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner for a non-institutional role. This position involves delivering advanced nursing care, including preventive healthcare, and the evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic conditions in outpatient settings such as clinics, county health departments, and other community-based environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate with physicians, supervise healthcare staff, and provide comprehensive care to individuals and families.
Responsibilities:
- Manage care for an assigned caseload, including establishing protocols, monitoring treatment plans, and evaluating clinical practices.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including patient histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial screenings.
- Develop and document treatment plans, diagnoses, and prescriptions while ensuring accurate and thorough medical records.
- Prescribe medications and administer treatments, including performing minor procedures under established protocols.
- Provide health education, counseling, and risk reduction strategies to patients and their families.
- Plan and deliver clinical orientation and continuing education for public health nurses.
- Supervise student nurse practitioners during clinical practicums and coordinate their learning experiences.
- Consult and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure the highest quality of care.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge in assessing and managing the health of individuals, families, and groups.
- Expertise in physical and psychosocial assessment tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with community resources for planning and referrals for chronic or specialized care.
- Ability to interpret laboratory findings, radiological studies, and diagnostic tests.
- Proficient in prescribing and monitoring medications and performing minor procedures per written protocols.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to educate, counsel, and collaborate effectively.
- Capability to supervise, evaluate, and guide nursing staff and students.
- Demonstrated ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level nursing program approved by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in South Carolina.
- Prescriptive authority as required under the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act (Section 40-33-34).
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (as applicable).
- Valid driver’s license (if required for the role).
